Dryer performance and airflow
Long drying times can involve the appliance, the load or restricted exhaust airflow. Diagnosis helps separate a heating or control fault from a venting issue. Tell us if the outside vent is hard to access or if the dryer is stacked.
Tell us whether the dryer is electric or gas when you request service. We confirm the appliance type, access and work scope before booking. A dryer repair visit does not automatically include building duct replacement or full vent cleaning.
Before your appointment
Clean the accessible lint screen as usual. If the dryer smells burnt, overheats or makes a new grinding sound, stop using it until it has been assessed. Do not keep running extra cycles to work around an overheating problem.

Does a long drying time mean the heating element has failed?
Not always. Restricted airflow and other faults can look similar. A diagnosis helps avoid replacing a working part.
Should I keep using a noisy dryer?
Stop using it if there is a burning smell, overheating or a sudden severe noise. Describe the noise and when it happens when you contact us.
Can you look at the washer during the same visit?
Tell us about both appliances when booking. We will confirm the scope and any additional diagnostic charge before the visit.
What happens after the diagnosis?
We explain the fault, the repair price and whether a part needs to be ordered. You decide whether to proceed. The $80 diagnostic fee plus tax applies if you decline the repair; it is waived when you go ahead.
