When a diagnosis helps
An appliance that will not start, drain or heat does not identify a failed part on its own. If you are unsure what is wrong, our $80 diagnostic visit plus tax establishes the fault and repair price. The fee is waived if you go ahead with the repair.
Compare the full costs
For a repair, consider the quoted work, the appliance’s condition, any previous problems and parts availability. For replacement, add delivery, installation, removal and any changes needed to fit or connect the new appliance. A lower purchase price does not always mean a lower total cost.
Check coverage before paying for a repair
If the appliance may still be covered by a manufacturer, retailer or extended warranty, contact that provider first. Coverage, approved service providers and included parts vary. Northside is an independent service business; we do not claim manufacturer authorization.
You decide after seeing the quote
There is no blanket age or percentage rule that settles every repair. Explain what matters to you: replacement timing, repeated faults, matching built-in finishes or keeping a stacked pair compatible. We explain the diagnosed repair so you can decide. If you decline it, the diagnostic fee applies.
Already know you need a replacement?
You can request an installation quote directly. Send the new model and the current setup details. There is no need to book a repair diagnostic solely to ask about installation.
A note about refrigerators
We also repair refrigerator sealed systems. If the diagnosis involves the compressor or a refrigerant leak, compare the quoted repair with the fridge’s condition, parts availability and full replacement cost. Check any manufacturer parts or sealed-system warranty before authorizing paid work.
Our repair warranty
Completed repairs include 90 days of parts-and-labour coverage on the repair performed. This does not mean every unrelated future fault is covered. Contact us if the repaired issue returns.
